Growth, Timing, and the Lessons My Son Is Teaching Me

REFLECTIONS

My son, Prince Eneojo, is teaching me practical lessons on growth and timing, and he doesn’t even know it.

Each month, there’s a new development.
The first time he discovered the use of his hands, he grabbed everything in sight.
Then came the moment he tasted solid food for the first time, and I was so happy for him.
Soon after, he started crawling with his stomach, dragging himself across the floor.
With time, he began using his knees to crawl properly.
Now, he can stand using any object close to him.
He knows his mother and me very well.
He smiles when he sees us, reaches out, and even calls out in his little way.

I’ve noticed something beautiful: each month brings a new layer of growth.
No rush.
No pressure.
Just steady, intentional development.

And watching him, I’m reminded of how life is meant to unfold for all of us.

Don’t Just Grow Up — Grow Through

Most people don’t want to grow up, they want to jump up.
They want the spotlight without the preparation.
The platform without the process.
The reward without the refinement.

But growth takes time.
It takes patience.
It takes surrender.

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” — Ecclesiastes 3:1

Timing doesn’t just elevate you, it equips you.
It prepares you for the top and helps you stay there.
Because many have jumped up and have not lasted long.

A Conversation That Stuck With Me

I was speaking with a friend recently who said, “I feel stuck. I’ve been trying to break through in my career, but nothing is working.”

I asked him, “Have you noticed that when it’s time to receive something, it comes easily? No stress, no struggle, it just happens.”

He paused, then nodded.

I continued, “But when you’re forcing something before its time, there’s always resistance. That’s not failure, that’s timing.”

Sometimes, the struggle isn’t because you’re doing something wrong.
It’s because the season isn’t ripe yet.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.” — Ecclesiastes 3:11

🌱 Let Growth Happen Naturally

Don’t force yourself.
Don’t rush the process.
Allow yourself to grow.

Just like my son, who didn’t wake up one day and start walking, he’s learning, stretching, falling, and rising again.
And every step is progress.

Your life is unfolding.
Your purpose is maturing.
Your character is being shaped.

“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” — Philippians 1:6

So breathe.
Trust the process.
And let God do His work in you.

Because when the time is right,
Things will fall into place naturally.
