Truth and purpose—two words that hold the weight of existence. We search for them in our daily lives, in the decisions we make, in the moments that shape us. But how often do we pause to truly reflect on their depth?
Life moves quickly. We chase goals, build relationships, and pursue success. Yet, in the midst of it all, there comes a time when we stop and ask: Is this truly the path I’m meant to walk? Purpose isn’t just about doing; it’s about knowing why we do.
Scripture reminds us in Ecclesiastes 3:1, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” This tells us that purpose is not just a destination—it’s a journey. Each season of our lives carries meaning, even when we don’t fully understand it.
Truth, on the other hand, is the foundation upon which purpose is built. Without truth, we wander. Without truth, our steps lack conviction. Jesus said in John 8:32, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” It is truth that brings clarity, that opens our eyes to the bigger picture, that aligns our hearts with what matters most.
Look at Moses. A man who thought his life was settled, living in exile, far from the grandeur of Egypt. His truth was simple: he had run, and his past was behind him. But then, purpose knocked in the form of a burning bush. The truth of who he was could no longer be ignored—he was called to lead. He resisted, questioned, doubted, yet God’s plan was unwavering. His purpose was set long before he understood it.
We experience this too. We have moments where life redirects us—sometimes subtly, sometimes dramatically. There are things we once believed about ourselves, only to later realize they were incomplete. We thought we knew our path, only for God to shift it entirely.
In my own journey, there have been times when I held onto a vision, convinced it was the only direction meant for me. But as time passed, as experiences unfolded, I saw how truth shaped my perspective and how purpose expanded beyond what I expected.
And that is the beauty of reflection. It allows us to step back, to realign, to embrace the lessons woven into our story. It reminds us that truth and purpose are not just abstract ideas but living, breathing forces guiding our steps.
So as we move forward, let’s take the time to reflect—not just on where we are, but on where we are meant to be. Because truth is waiting to be discovered, and purpose is calling us to walk in it.
Let’s explore together. Let’s reflect together.
