Do You Know Who My Father Is? : A Story of Confidence and Covenant

I saw a video recently that stirred something deep in me.
A young lion cub was alone at night, making noise, maybe trying to scare something away.
Then, from the shadows, a massive figure emerged.
The father.

He didn’t roar, he didn’t announce himself, he just showed up.
And suddenly, the cub’s confidence changed.
He started making sounds that resembled roaring.
It was as if he was saying,
“Oh, you thought I was alone?”
“Now, what were you saying again?”
“Do you know who my father is?”

That moment hit me hard.
Because many of us live like we don’t know who our Father is.
We panic, we shrink, we forget.

The Confidence of Covenant

David understood this.
He said in Psalm 27:10:

Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.”

That’s confidence.
That’s knowing who your Father is.

Jesus also taught this in Matthew 6.
He said God provides for the sparrows , birds that don’t plant or harvest.
He clothes the lilies in beauty greater than Solomon’s wealth.
Then He asked,
“Are you not much more valuable than they?”

My Father owns the universe.
He’s not just powerful, He’s personal.
And when you walk in that knowledge, fear loses its grip.

The Mordecai Moment

I remember the story of Haman in Esther 6.
He plotted to kill Mordecai, but his plans began to misfire.
Then his friends said something profound:

“If Mordecai, before whom your downfall has started, is of Jewish origin, you cannot stand against him, you will surely come to ruin.” (Esther 6:13)

They were basically saying,
“If this guy is connected to the covenant, forget it.”

And here’s the truth:
That covenant, the one between God and Abraham was powerful.
But you and I have an even better covenant.
Jesus sealed it with His blood.
We are adopted into the family of God.
We are not just covered, we are claimed.

David’s Confidence Wasn’t Arrogance

David didn’t just pray, he reported everything to God.
He lived in constant communion.
And when asked why he didn’t fear war or enemies, he said in Psalm 144:1,
“He trains my hands for battle, my fingers for war.”

David wasn’t fearless because he was strong.
He was fearless because he knew who fought for him.

Your Father Is Not Limited

I know times are hard.
But your Father’s promise still stands:
“My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)

His supply is not tied to government budgets or economic policies.
It’s tied to glory.
So walk in confidence.
The next time life challenges you, boldly declare,
“Do you know who my Father is?”

The Invitation to Know Him

If you’ve never known God as Father,
If you’ve felt alone, abandoned, or unsure,
You can know Him today.

Pray this:

Heavenly Father, I come to You today.
I believe that Jesus died for my sins and rose again to give me life.
I accept Your gift of salvation.
Forgive me, cleanse me, and make me Yours.
I declare that from today, I am a child of God.
I have a Father who never leaves me.
Amen.

If you prayed that prayer,
Welcome to the greatest family on earth.
A family whose Father never abandons His own.

Remain blessed, walk boldly, you are not alone.
